If you're looking for a way out, take a sickie the day before the shower and then phone and say you don't want to make her sick so close to the birth. Send a gift. The bous you get to miss the shower and have a day of rest! I dream about getting out of these this way, but also seem to do "what's right" everytime. Good luck with this and look after yourself.
